The 20th edition of the Heritage Day has plenty of leisure proposals for this Sunday, 18 October 2015.
Here is a list of ten most extraordinary sites to visit in Monaco and beyond, which are normally closed for public. All for free.
Private chapel of the Archbishop
Located behind the cathedral, the archbishop is usually a place closed to the public, to discover 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Princely Palace Library
The team from the archives of Prince’s Palace has prepared an exhibition of unpublished documents on the occasion of the tercentenary of the marriage of Princess Louise-Hippolyte with Jacques de Matignon, echoing the exhibition held in Paris, in the salons of Matignon Hotel.
Guided tours at 11:00, 14:30 and 16:30.
Museum of the Princes of Monaco and their guards
Housed in the barracks of the Carabinieri, the place is a small historical museum, rarely available, worth a detour.
Open from 10:00 to 12:00 and 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Continuous guided tours. Carabinieri barracks, 5, Boulevard de Belgique.
Audiovisual Archives of Monaco
The establishment (4, avenue Hector Otto) will announce to the public the daily work of preservation and documentation of their gigantic audiovisual collections. Visits are scheduled one hour at 10 am, 11:30 14 h, before 15:30 and 17 hours.
Church of the Sacred Heart
Church Road La Turbie, recently restored and consecrated will be visible outside of the offices (13:30 and 17:30).
Princess Grace Academy
Guided tour of the Casa Mia, home to the Academy (5 avenue de la Costa), exploring the lives of students and possibility to attend a classical dance lesson (11 hours or 14 hours) or contemporary (at 15:30 ).
Villa “La Vigie”
The mythical villa overlooking the cove of the Monte Carlo exceptionally opens its doors to the public for a guided tour of the interior and gardens.
Visit to 9 pm 30.10 pm 30.11 pm 30.14 pm 30.15 pm 30 and 16 h 30. Go to the parking lot of the Monte Carlo Beach
Pre-treatment plant wastewater
Management of Urban Development offers this unusual visit, this facility buried under the Rock, which deals rainwater collected throughout the city.
Go-Antoine I dock on the esplanade above “La Rascasse”.
Guided tours at 10 am, 11 h, 14 h and 15 h. Wearing closed footwear is strongly recommended.
Yacht Club de Monaco
The most modern building in the Principality of its members, will unveil its wings to the public.
Guided tours at 10 am, 15 h 30 and 17 h 30.
Set next to a bowler Club Monaco-Ville, the Graduate School of Visual Arts present an exhibition of work by young graduates of 2015.
Free admission from 11 am to 18 hours.
